UKAT Prospectus
UKAT Future: • Sustaining the highest quality of education across the MAT • Continuing a relentless focus on the development of our teachers, leaders and support staff by providing defined career pathways, continuing professional development, and robust retention of talent with a focus on ‘growing our own’ • Developing into an expanded Trust which has an ‘all through’ and strongly inclusive provision, designed to increase opportunities for both staff and students and strengthen student experience through transition phases supporting young people of all ages and abilities, including those with significant needs • Establish the UKAT Sixth Form as a new, ground breaking post 16 provider for all, specialising in science, medical and health pathways, with meaningful collaboration on technical and vocational qualifications within a new purpose-built facility
What we ask from you As UKAT grows, we intend to grow with unique schools and academies that also share the basic principles and values of our organisation. This ensures that growth benefits all schools and academies within the MAT both now and in the future. Our hopes and expectations for schools and academies joining UKAT are: • Whilst each UKAT school/academy retains its own vision and values, we will encourage each school/academy to agree to and help to further the UKAT Trust-wide values • Each school/academy will be willing to engage with the University of Kent as Lead Sponsor of UKAT, including utilising University resources for their students as decided by the school/academy Principal/Headteacher • Each school/academy will be willing to work collaboratively and positively with the other UKAT schools/academies to benefit educational experiences across the MAT. UKAT is keen to ensure that the Trust exists to support academies/schools in the most appropriate way for each individual school/ academy, and in a way that facilitates the autonomy of each school/academy.
• Acting responsibly and mindfully to help protect the environment for the next generation
The priority of all MAT activities is the teaching and learning of students and the innovative, creative and cost-effective services the Trust can provide to facilitate this.
