Somerhill pupils praised on Home Front Day

On Thursday 13th March, pupils in Year 6 took part in our annual Home Front Day. Throughout the day, children learned about rationing, evacuation, gas masks and handled genuine Second World War uniforms and a deactivated rifle. They practised their de-coding skills, steady hands for bomb disposal, stretcher-bearing, and much more. The children are now more enthused than ever about their history topic, and Gayle from Portals to the Past praised the children highly, saying that this was the best year yet!
