Yearly Life at Somerhill

As we reach the end of another academic year at Somerhill, we would like to take a moment to reflect with pride and gratitude on all that we have accomplished together as a school community. This has been a year that has tested us in many ways and the result we see today is that Somerhill has not just weathered the storm, but has grown stronger, bolder, and more ambitious for the future. While we remain the largest prep school in the area, we believe that we are also the most vibrant and forward-thinking. We take huge pride in our school’s and pupils’ achievements this year, which are testament to a community that does not just adapt when tested but rises. This year, our Year 6 and Year 8 pupils achieved a record number of grammar school offers and scholarships to senior independent schools. These results reflect not only the academic excellence that defines Somerhill, but also the character, confidence, and creativity we cultivate in every child. We are delighted that our values have been recognised beyond Somerhill, and the school has been shortlisted for Independent Prep School of the Year by the Independent Schools of the Year 2025 awards programme. Looking forward to the next academic year, we are delighted to be welcoming over 50 new families to Somerhill this September, proof that our reputation as a school of choice continues to grow. We know that they will be warmly welcomed into a community that is defined by kindness and shared values. This year has reminded us of the importance of connection, the strength of community and the remarkable things we can achieve when we come together with a shared purpose. We are immensely proud of our pupils, our dedicated staff, and every family whose contributions help make Somerhill the truly exceptional school it is.
