External media photography and filming The media operate under their own code of practice. Photographs taken by the media are usually exempt from the GDPR. Official school photographers own the photos they have taken, they will only be able to use these photos for the specific purposes that parents and/or students consented to at the time the photos were taken. If the photographer wishes to subsequently use photos for purposes not initially consented to, they will need new parental and/or student permission. Internal photography and filming 1. Permission is valid from the date the permission form is signed. Permission can be withdrawn at any time by emailing officeBA@ universityofkentacademiestrust.org.uk 2. If we take photographs or videos of individual students or groups of students we will only use Academy devices such as mobile phones owned by Brompton Academy or iPads. 3. We will not use the personal details or full names (which means first name and surname) of any child or adult in a photograph on our website, social media, in our Academy

prospectus or in any of our other printed publications (unless required for assessment purposes). 4. If we use photographs of individual students, we will not use the full name of that child in the accompanying text or photo caption. 5. We may use group or class photographs or footage with very general labels, such as ‘a science lesson’ or ‘a sporting event’. 6. We will only use images of students who are suitably dressed, to reduce the risk of such images being used inappropriately. 7. Images taken at out of hours Academy events, e.g. achievements events, etc may be used to promote the Academy. These images will be used in an appropriate context.
