Student Code of Conduct The Student Code of Conduct comes from the belief that our community needs to work in harmony; students and staff need to be respectful towards each other and work together to promote a safe learning environment. • Attend the academy every day and be on site by 8.20am. • Be punctual to all lessons and ready to learn. • Wear the full academy uniform at all times. • Engage with your learning in every lesson – ask for help if you need it. • Good behaviour and manners are expected at all times. Listen and follow instructions from all members of staff without arguing back, interrupting or questioning what has been asked. • Be polite at all times, never shouting, swearing or physically harming anyone. Physical contact is not allowed.

• Wearing your uniform means that you are representing Chatham Grammar. Your behaviour to and from the academy must be exemplary. • Use a suitable sized bag for all your school equipment: a pencil case with pens, pencils, ruler, sharpener, etc, an iPad fully charged, water bottle, various exercise books, folders and text-books. • Bring your PE/Dance kit in when you have PE and Dance and follow the uniform policy. • Keep the classrooms and academy tidy and clean by not dropping litter. Eating is not allowed in classrooms or corridors. • Hot food purchased in the Lime Lounge must be eaten before leaving. Food purchased via the Little Lime can be eaten outside, in the seated garden area available to all students. • No chewing gum is allowed at Chatham Grammar.

• Mobile phones, if taken to the academy, must be switched off and put away once in the academy grounds. If students need to call home, they can do so at Student Services. • Treat everyone equally and fairly, by not using discriminatory language or behaviour. • Seek out a member of staff if you need help with a situation. • Report any incidents of bullying either of yourself or others immediately to your Personal Tutor, Refernow or any member of staff. • Coats, hoodies and jumpers that are not academy uniform are not worn inside the academy and must be put in lockers.
