In accordance with the academy's Privacy Notice and current GDPR guidelines, the parent/carer has the right to withdraw their child/ward at any time, however, depending on the activity, venue and time of cancellation, we cannot guarantee a full refund. Academy trips Chatham Grammar believes that educational visits are an integral part of the entitlement of every student for an effective and balanced curriculum. Appropriately planned visits are known to enhance learning and improve attainment, and so form a key part of what makes CG a supportive and effective learning environment. The benefits to students of taking part in visits and learning outside the classroom include social, cultural, religious and spiritual wellbeing. We request that you read the following information and understand the roles and responsibilities of CG parents/carers in the organisation and delivery of a wide range of activities, trips and excursions. Outcomes To combat discrimination the academy will: • Refernow. • Use mediation processes. • Involve parents/carers. • Use peer mentoring support.

• Monitor learning and pastoral data with reference to gender, ethnicity, sexuality, disability, background and language. • Develop within our PSHE programme learning opportunities to discuss equality discrimination issues. • Use the Behaviour and Anti-Bullying policies to tackle equality issues as required. Responsibilities It is the responsibility of everyone at CG to know what discrimination is and to challenge it. If you are the victim of discrimination or witness anything that makes you uncomfortable you must tell someone. Don’t keep it to yourself or ignore it, report your concerns via email to: valueourvoice@ universityofkentacademiestrust.org.uk Dealing with discriminatory incidents CG will not tolerate discrimination in any form. We will: • Support and protect any victims. • Investigate any allegation or incident. • Warn any student who has been discriminatory that their behaviour is unacceptable, and that further incidents will be sanctioned as necessary. • Educate the aggressor that discrimination is intolerable under any circumstance.

• Place students in the Isolation Room. • Make use of fixed-term suspensions. • Permanently exclude — as a final resort. Academy activities and trips – forms The purpose of the Chatham Grammar Lifetime Consent Form for Educational Visits is to obtain permission for your child to participate in off-site educational activities/trips including adventurous, overseas and residential trips, and for any sporting fixtures after the academy day organised by CG can be found at: www.chathamgrammar.org.uk For each individual trip CG will supply a letter/email detailing more information about the event. Any trips that have a cost attached; parents/carers will be asked to make all payments via the ParentPay system. For any higher risk activities, a further detailed Permission to Participate Form may be required.
