The Academy Curriculum
Leadership Development Programme This is a programme designed for Years 7, 8 and 9 students to develop learning capacities, independent learning skills and employability skills. The programme aims to stretch students not just academically, but creatively and emotionally. Lessons help students develop self-belief, resilience, raise aspirations and improve problem solving skills, enabling them to mature into successful leaders of the future. Leadership points are collected in line with the 7 leadership habits by all students. It is delivered through the following four modules: • Critical Thinking • Enterprise • Public Speaking • Mindfulness
PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education) PSHE is broken down into three areas: • Health and Wellbeing • The Wider World • Relationships We also look at Employability Skills, Looking towards Further and Higher Education, Property and Housing, Careers, Equality and Diversity.
Qualifications studied include: • GCSE • A level • Level 3 BTEC • Diploma in Criminology All levels of qualification are offered: • Level 3 – Advanced level (A level)
• Level 2 – Levels 4-9 (GCSE) • Level 1 – Levels 1-3 (GCSE)
