Why can I not choose Art & Design, Textiles and three dimensional products?

Unfortunately, this is not possible as they contain too much common content.

Food and Music Options

When students apply for the Food or Music options, additional confirmation will later be required that parents/carers will meet the specific requirements of these courses. Additional Language Option Students may be able to take an additional language if they are able to speak, listen, read and write in a language other than French or Spanish. If you think your child may be able to study an additional language, please include this information on our online options choices form.

What is Triple Science? The majority of students will be taking Combined Science which is the equivalent of two GCSEs, covering Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Some students who have a particular interest in the sciences may wish to choose to take Triple Science as an option. This consists of three separate GCSEs; one in Biology, one in Chemistry and one in Physics.

What is Attainment 8? Attainment 8 is the students’ average achievement across the eight subjects named above. Students are expected to get at least a grade 5 in all subjects particularly English and Maths. This measure replaces the previous headline measure of 5 A*-C including English and Mathematics. What is expected of all students in terms of end of Year 11 examination outcomes? Students are expected to gain at least a strong pass of grade 5 or above in all their subjects. It is therefore important that students choose options that support a passion for the subject and support successful educational outcomes which will secure their future next steps.
