Life at Somerhill Magazine

This year, Year 3 pupils at Somerhill have enjoyed a range of exciting, hands on learning experiences across the curriculum. In History, they explored the Roman invasion of Britain by designing and crafting their own Roman shields before heading into ‘battle’ to practise traditional Roman formations, including the popular tortoise formation. In Maths, pupils ventured into the woods to investigate different types of lines and angles, using natural materials to create polygons and identify geometric features. In Science, they became budding botanists, studying flowers and plants around the school grounds and producing detailed botanical illustrations as part of their learning about plant structures. Year 3 round off a great first year in prep!
