THE SOMERHILL REVIEW 2023/24

Year 5 French Day

For their French day, the Year 5 children took part in a carousel of cross-curricular activities and learned about the geography of France and about what different regions are famous for.

They also researched facts about other francophone countries and presented their findings to their peers by creating presentations using their digital in French as well as phrases for ordering their baguette, ice cream and drink of choice in French. All the activities were literacy skills.They also practised their numbers

designed to enhance

collaboration, communication, general knowledge and citizenship skills- beautifully tying in with our PSB skills programme. We were blessed with warm, sunny weather- perfect for an afternoon of pétanque, croquet and crêpes, which were prepared by the wonderful duo from Crêpe de la Crêpe. We can’t wait to put on our Breton stripes and berets again next year!
