Yearly Life at Somerhill

Year 1 have enjoyed participating in a Chinese fan dance workshop, a Chinese calligraphy morning and a trip to China as part of their topic this term. They had the opportunity to learn steps to a dance and then incorporated fans. During the calligraphy workshop, the children were taught how to use brush strokes to write Happy New Year. The children were excited to take a ‘flight’ to Beijing where they handed in passports and boarding passes and enjoyed an in-flight snack! A busy Chinese-themed term for Year 1
