Yearly Life at Somerhill

Year 7 pupils have made a great start to their first PSB project, The Art of the Machine. They have created cropped linos based on an engine and are on a journey of discovery through reduction lino printing.

Year 8 visited Tonbridge School's OBS Gallery to see the exhibition, 'Almost Nothing But Blue Ground' to kick start their next project about natural forms and collaboration. In class, they have been completing their distorted portraiture project, combining imagery from Lucien Freud, Edvard Munch and Alberto Giacometti.

Year 5 pupils have enjoyed looking at Aboriginal dot painting and have designed their dreamtime story images based on native animals. We are looking forward to seeing their finished canvases next half term.

Pupils in year 4 have been drawing self-portraits, exploring proportion and shading.
