Yearly Life at Somerhill

BBC 500 Word Challenge first round success! Huge congratulations to the 19 Somerhill prep pupils who have made it through to the second round of the BBC 500 Words creative writing competition. The judges said that 'We received tens of thousands of entries and only around 5,000 go through for the second round of judging by the Reading Agency. You should be very proud!' We will hear in January whether any of our pupils have made it to the final shortlist. We want to commend all of our young authors who submitted entries to the competition; we were so impressed by the creativity displayed across the range of genres and would encourage everyone to keep writing and sharing their talents.
