Yearly Life at Somerhill

Egyptian Day for Year 4 pupils Wow! What a wonderful term Year 4 have had. We have had learning opportunities galore but a particular highlight has to have been our super Egyptian morning. The squeals of delight along the corridors were a joy to behold! The children were immersed into the Ancient Egyptian civilisation, they became artists, attended scribe school and unlocked the secrets of the Rosetta Stone. They also had to apply their mathematical skills to solve code puzzles and escape the tomb! If that was not enough, they learnt about scarab beetles and created their own intricate designs and finally, the children learning about the fascinating mummification process. They even got hands on and mummified cucumbers!
